Yoli Mayor performed her own version of the Rihanna hit “Love On The Brain” and it ended with a standing ovation from all five judges on America’s Got Talent. During her first audition, Yoli was stopped mid-performance by Simon Cowell, who asked her to sing a different song. She also received a makeup by Tyra Banks.
When she took the stage, Cowell told her, “I feel like I’m seeing you.” She responded, “I feel like me… I don’t feel like I showed you everything that I’ve really got, and this time I want to.” With that, she forcefully covered Rihanna’s “Love On The Brain” as the judges watched with smiles on their faces. A standing ovation from the entire panel followed.
Klum said, “I love you. From all the singers, you are, in my eyes, one of the best, if not the best.” Guest judge DJ Khaled said, “It was incredible. You’re beautiful. Your voice is beautiful.” He even tried to hit his Golden Buzzer again, but already used it for Chase Goehring. So he told Mayor, “You don’t even need this button.”
Cowell then said, “You know why you fascinate me? I don’t think you know what you’re capable of, and this is what excites me because you have such an amazing voice.” The music mogul predicted Mayor will get better and better and surprise herself. He added, “We’re going to find that little space for you, that you can own, Yoli, because you’re good.”
The judges continued praising Mayor after she left the stage, including Khaled who said that she will “turn up” in the next round.
