Robert Mueller Saying He Supports ‘One-World Government’ Is A Falsely Attributed Quote

By Shawn Rice

Robert Mueller called for a switch to a “One-World” system of leadership, religion, and government is a falsely attributed quote to him. Mueller is the special counsel probing Russian interference in the 2016 election to ensure their parallel investigations do not conflict with one another. Rather, the falsely attributed quote may have been written by a former United Nations official with a similar name.

Where did news of this quote originate? In May 2017 a meme portrayed Justice Department special counsel Mueller, who is investigating Russian meddling in the 2016 election, as a proponent of a “one-world” political system. You can see the meme below.

The caption for the image read:

We must move as quickly as possible to a one-world government; a one-world religion; under a one-world leader.

Here are some examples of people sharing the quote on social media.

However, Mueller who is currently investigating President Donald Trump for possible obstruction of justice never made such a statement.

Rather, Snopes reported that the quote has been attributed to Robert Muller, former Assistant Secretary General to the United Nations and the 1989 winner of the UNESCO Prize for Peace Education. Conspiracy theorist Dwight Kinman used the quote as an epigraph for a chapter in his 1993 book “The World’s Last Dictator.”

Kinman does not provide a citation for that particular Muller quote. However, much of his discussion of Muller centers around his novel “First Lady of the World.”

A conservative meme-related group acknowledged that the quote was misattributed while still throwing in an insult against Mueller. That group stated the following:

Thank you MemeRight page fans for pointing out the error in our Mueller NWO page. We don’t creat [sic] them all and strive for accuracy. While we’re no fans of the Robert Mueller who’s close buddies and in collusion with Clinton bag man James Comey, we do want to maintain our fan base with trust.

Mueller recently met with the House leaders which came a week after he held a similar meeting with Senate intelligence committee Chairman Richard Burr and its ranking Democrat Sen. Mark Warner, who are conducting a third, Senate investigation into Russian election Go to the full article.
