Preacher Lawson was catfished and told his hilarious dating tale about it on America’s Got Talent. The 26-year-old stand-up comedian told a hilarious story about how he was catfished online, and now the woman is his girlfriend. Preacher said that the woman was not deceptive about her looks, but about the fact that she walks with a limp.
“I normally don’t buy women drinks, because I don’t drink,” Lawson explained during his stand-up routine. “It’s weird for me to get a water [and] get a girl her own alcoholic beverage like, ‘Yeah, how you like it?’ You know, it’s just creepy. I’m a comedian, Bill Cosby’s a comedian,” he said as his voice trailed off, alluding to Cosby’s criminal allegations of drugging women’s drinks. Despite the risque nature of the joke, the judges applauded wildly.
“So I met this girl online, she was very pretty. I met her in person, she was just as pretty. That’s not how she got me. The way she got me was when she walks, she kind of has a limp,” Preacher said. “Which is cool. I don’t care if you got a limp, but like, put it in your profile somewhere! Like, I love long walks on the beach, but it’s hard for me because my leg’s jacked up.”
