Kicking off the elimination night of The Voice, the show saw a performance by Portugal. The Man of their hit song, “Feel It Still.” At the moment, the group is comprised of John Gourley, Zach Carothers, Kyle O’Quin, Jason Sechrist and Eric Howk. The band just released their eighth studio album, Woodstock, in June 2017.
The Portland-based group’s music has long been described as “alternative rock,” but their song “Feel It Still” recently earned the band its first Grammy Award nomination — in the pop category. Portugal. The Man was nominated for a Grammy for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for their single “Feel It Still.” They are nominated alongside The Chainsmokers and Coldplay, Alessia Cara and Zedd, Imagine Dragons, and Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee, and Justin Bieber.
The track served as the lead single off the band’s equally stellar eighth LP Woodstock and also flung open the door for the group to enter into the mainstream. The song recently broke the record for most weeks at No. 1 on Billboard’s Alternative Songs airplay chart, as it logged its 20th week at the top (dated Dec. 9) and comfortably sits within the top 10 on the Hot 100.

“The Voice,” which has won four Emmys for Outstanding Reality-Competition Program, returns with the strongest vocalists from across the country invited to compete in the blockbuster vocal competition show’s new season.
Superstar singer, songwriter, actress and pop-culture icon Miley Cyrus returns as a coach this season with Oscar, Grammy, Golden Globe-winning recording artist and Broadway star Jennifer Hudson taking a red chair alongside the show’s returning coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton and host Carson Daly. The show’s innovative format features five stages of competition: the first begins with the blind auditions, then the battle rounds, knockouts, playoffs and, finally, the live performance shows.
In the final live performance phase of the competition, the Top 12 artists will compete each week against each other during a live broadcast. The television audience will vote to save their favorite artists.
