Photo of Snoop Dogg Wearing Easter Bunny Costume Is A Digital Fake

By Erica Abbott

An image purportedly showing Snoop Dogg dressed in an Easter bunny costume holding a basket of marijuana is fake. Though the rapper shared the photo on his own Instagram, it was nothing more than an Easter joke.

According to Snopes, the Photoshopped image of the pink bunny costume-wearing rapper has been circulating social media for years and gained more popularity after Snoop Dogg shared it on his official Instagram account in 2014. That year, Easter happened to fall on April 20, which has come to be known as “Weed Day” by pot smokers around the world. “Happy Easter,” the musician captioned the photo. “Hahahahahahahah 2funny. 420!!!”

Happy Easter. Hahahahahahahah 2funny. 420!!!

While the viral photo is no doubt funny, it is not real. A second glance at the photo will reveal that the original model’s hands can be seen—clearly revealing the Easter-themed prank. That bunny suit model stepped forward on Reddit in 2014, writing, “That’s me! I think Snoop rocked it better though.” He also shared the genuine photo, which does not contain any marijuana-filled basket:

While Snoop Dogg never dressed in the ridiculous Easter get-up, he did come face to face with the “real” Easter bunny the same year. He took to Instagram to share a video of a bunny sitting outside his window. “The real f—ing Easter Bunny,” he quipped. Unfortunately, there was no pink bunny suit included in the video.

Easter bunny !!
