Reports that Mike Tyson called former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton “America’s most prolific serial killer” are false. The fake quote from the former heavyweight champion stemmed from a notorious purveyor of fabricated stories.

According to a Gossip Cop report, the fake claim originated on YourNewsWire, a disreputable/clickbait website known for publishing conspiracy theories and fake news. The article claimed that Tyson said Clinton “is part of a crime family” that has killed dozens of people over the years. It purported:

Hillary Clinton is part of a crime family that has left a trail of dozens of dead bodies in its bloodthirsty pursuit of power, according to Mike Tyson who told an audience in Las Vegas: “Hillary is America’s most prolific serial killer – bar none.”

Manson family ain’t nothing compared to the Clinton family,” Tyson said. “Ted Bundy? John Wayne Gacy? Please…that’s kiddie stuff,” Tyson said, pointing out the Manson family murdered four people, while Ted Bundy and John Wayne Gacy accounted for 35 and 33 respectively.

According to the 51-year-old former heavyweight champion, who was warming up for the next leg of his Undisputed Truth 2 speaking tour with a small show in Las Vegas, these death tallies pale in comparison to the number of victims who have met their maker at the hands of Hillary Clinton.

The article, however, is entirely fabricated. Tyson never made any such comments about Clinton and, while YourNewsWire contains no disclaimer, RationalWiki provides a description on their website:

YourNewsWire (styled as YourNewsWire.com[1]) is an Los Angeles-based clickbait fake news website known for disseminating conspiracy theories and misleading information, contrary to its claimed motto (“News. Truth. Unfiltered”).

While Tyson supported Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election, he never referred to Clinton as “America’s most prolific serial killer.” Tyson, who described himself and Trump as “really good friends,” told the Daily Beast last year that he was endorsing the now-president. “I’ve been through a lot in life. And I know him,” he said. “When I see him, he shakes my hand and respects my family. None of them—Barack, whoever—nobody else does that. They’re gonna be who they are and disregard me, my family. So I’m voting for him. If I can get 20,000 people or more to vote for him, I’m gonna do it.” Trump later thanked him for the support.

Several conspiracy theories claim that Bill Clinton and the former Secretary of State and first lady were behind dozens of deaths. The “Clinton Body Count” rumor, which is used in the fake YourNewsWire story, is completely false.
