After playing with dozens of toys throughout season 2 of ABC’s “The Toy Box,” the kid judges chose Hydroshield Water Dodger, previously known as just Water Dodger, as the winner during the grand finale. Hydroshield Water Dodger, which also won $100,000 and a deal with Mattel, will be available exclusively at Toys”R”Us starting Monday, Nov. 20.
The winning game puts a twist on the classic water balloon toy by using Aqua Ammo, which is a reusable, environmentally-friendly water ball, and shields. The outdoor toy made a splash with the kid judges in the season premiere, receiving a unanimous five out fo five votes in the first round. Four judges then sent it to the finale. Wobb-Ball, formerly Flexxball, and Eardorables are also available at Toys”R”Us.
“Growing up with a single mother and seven siblings we came up with a ton of ways to keep ourselves entertained, and inventing toys and games has always been a passion,” Nate Eaton, the inventor of Hydroshield Water Dodger, said in a press release. “It’s truly a dream come true to see my toy invention on-shelf at Toys”R”Us and hopefully on kids wish lists this holiday season.”
Ultimately, it all came down to Hydroshield Water Dodger and Hovercraft. The other toys that made it to the finale were CLICKEYBits (eliminated by Madison Stevens and Gideon Reynolds), Poshies (eliminated by Emma Sobel and Joachim Powell), Ninja Cards (eliminated by Kyle Lee and Olivia Trujillo), Water Constructor (eliminated by Sydney Mae Estrella and Adi Ash) and Archipelagolf (eliminated by Paxton Booth and Noah Ritter).
