Eric Lyn gave his take on Marvin Gaye’s “What’s Going On” in The Voice knockouts. However, Eric lost the knockout round to Davon Fleming. Jennifer Hudson said that they both are extremely gifted and that they both should be here.
Adam Levine believed that Eric has a jazzy unique thing. Miley Cyrus said that Eric held his own. Blake Shelton said that Eric separated himself from everyone in the competition.

Eric has a high voice, and when he was younger used to get offended when people told him he sounded like a woman. Now he loves the fact that he has a unique voice. He is currently attending California State University, Northridge, where he is studying classical music and vocal performance and is two classes away from graduating. To make ends meet, he works as a background singer for up-and-coming artists and gives vocal lessons to clients from seven to 50 years old.

“The Voice,” which has won four Emmys for Outstanding Reality-Competition Program, returns with the strongest vocalists from across the country invited to compete in the blockbuster vocal competition show’s new season.
Superstar singer, songwriter, actress and pop-culture icon Miley Cyrus returns as a coach this season with Oscar, Grammy, Golden Globe-winning recording artist and Broadway star Jennifer Hudson taking a red chair alongside the show’s returning coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton and host Carson Daly.
The show’s innovative format features five stages of competition: the first begins with the blind auditions, then the battle rounds, knockouts, playoffs and, finally, the live performance shows.
At the end of the battle rounds, only the strongest members of each coach’s roster remain and proceed to the knockout rounds.
