Davon Fleming Performs John Mayer’s ‘Gravity’ On The Voice Top 8 To Showcase Vocals On Male Song

By Shawn Rice

Davon Fleming tackled “Gravity” by John Mayer on The Voice Top 8 as it reflected his attitude about not letting anything hold you down. Davon wanted to sing a male song to show viewers that side.

Adam Levine said that he always loved him and that he has this ability like any other ability that he has heard. Adam said that to be critical in the past was to dial it in a bit. Adam noted that Davon scaled it back a little and that fans felt him the way that Adam wanted them to feel him.

Jennifer Hudson said that she cannot coach Davon to do what he just did. Jennifer said that it was his belief in himself. Jennifer was just lifted in the air and standing in the mist of the performance. Jennifer said that Davon’s heart is beautiful as he just displayed it for everyone.

What did you think of the performance on The Voice? Let us know in the comments section.

Davon grew up in a rough neighborhood, experienced a lot of poverty and witnessed hustling on the streets, but he was never caught on the wrong side of the law. Instead, he was known as the singer in his neighborhood. Davon knew he wanted to sing at three years old after watching his mother perform in the church choir. Being a singer was always his mom’s dream before she had kids, but she had to give up that dream in order to support her family. Currently, Davon works as a worship leader and assists with the musical arrangements for the church choir performances.
