Davon Fleming Covers Christina Aguilera’s ‘Hurt’ On The Voice Top 10 With His Church Singing Style

By Shawn Rice

First on the night, Davon Fleming performed “Hurt” by Christina Aguilera on The Voice Top 10. During the rehearsal, Davon and his coach, Jennifer Hudson spoke about his church roots. During his performance, Jennifer once again went to her bit with the possibility of throwing her shoe. Jennifer must have a shoe deal as she keeps losing them when she takes them off for her team.

Adam Levine commented on Davon’s gold jacket. Adam said what Davon does is miraculous as he tackles female artists. Adam said that Davon stuns and is remarkable. He called Davon the real deal. Blake Shelton said that if “Deacon” is not in the finals that it is ridiculous because he is an incredible vocalist. Jennifer apologized if she hit someone with her shoe.

Jennifer said that she was beyond proud of Davon and that he is what the Voice is about.

What did you think of the performance on The Voice? Let us know in the comments section.

Davon grew up in a rough neighborhood, experienced a lot of poverty and witnessed hustling on the streets, but he was never caught on the wrong side of the law. Instead, he was known as the singer in his neighborhood. Davon knew he wanted to sing at three years old after watching his mother perform in the church choir. Being a singer was always his mom’s dream before she had kids, but she had to give up that dream in order to support her family. Currently, Davon works as a worship leader and assists with the musical arrangements for the church choir performances.
