Dancing with the Stars: Lindsey Stirling and Mark Ballas Dance Intense, ‘Quirky’ Freestyle for Finals

By Erica Abbott

Closing out the first night of the finals are Lindsey Stirling and Mark Ballas, dancing their freestyle to a medley of “Remember the Name” by Fort Minor feat. Styles of Beyond and “Palladio” by Escala. Their freestyle is inspired by Stirling’s personality and musical spirit.

Carrie Ann Inaba says the freestyle, which involved Stirling simultaneously dancing and playing the violin, perfectly showcased her uniqueness, while Len Goodman praises the “war on the floor” among the remaining competitors. Guest judge Julianne Hough calls it a masterpiece, adding that it was so different. Bruno Tonioli calls it a “modern classic extravaganza,” adding that is was extremely creative and imaginative. They score a 40 out of 40.

Welcome to the first night of the season 25 finale! The four finalists will be performing two dances on Monday—a Charleston, foxtrot, quickstep or paso doble for their redemption-style dance in round one and the fan-favorite freestyles in round two. Former pro Julianne Hough joins the judging panel tonight. One couple will be eliminated at the end of the night. On Tuesday, the three remaining finalists will repeat their favorite dance from the season and perform in the 24-Hour Fusion Challenge, which combines two contrasting dance styles. Drew Scott and Emma Slater are currently at the bottom of the leaderboard with 48 out of 60 points. At the top of the leaderboard are Jordan Fisher and Lindsay Arnold, who earned a perfect score for their Iconic Dance jive during the semi-finals last week.
