The singer-songwriter told the camera, “Performing a song that you wrote in front of all those people can make you feel very vulnerable, but original songs are where I shine.” He amusingly told the panelists that his song called “A Capella” wasn’t actually a capella, but just a song “about me.”
Goehring performed an original song called “Acapella” for judges Heidi Klum, Simon Cowell, Mel B., Howie Mandel and guest judge DJ Khaled
“There’s been so much talent here and it’s been so unique. I’m actually really nervous,” he admitted. But he pulled off the performance, which featuring a mashup of singing and talking similar to Ed Sheeran. Mandel and Klum even joined DJ Khaled in a standing ovation. Mel B told Goehring, “Your voice is good, you play guitar good, the lyrics, everything. I actually just felt like I was at your private concert.”
DJ Khaled told Goehring, “You’re on your way to be a star. This show and this stage is gonna make you into a superstar.” And with that, he pushed the button. As the pair celebrated, DJ Khaled could be heard telling the up-and-comer that they’ll work together.
